Rock Bucket Questions

For extracting modest sized rocks and relocating them, is a rock bucket a better option than a back hoe on something like a small TLB such as a Massey 2310 or equivalent small tractor?

I don't think rock buckets are an option on small tractors that can't lift that much with their FEL. A rock bucket alone will weigh around 500 lb and a grapple will add 100 to 200 lb more. If you are not careful, you'll exceed the lift capacity of your loader with just the bucket. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

My MDS rock bucket finally showed up today. My tractor is still in the shop, or I would have assembled it and played around with it. So all I have is still-on-the-pallet shots.
It is an MDS 5' light duty rock bucket w/ JD 300/400 series loader mounts (not yet installed).

I am so far impressed with this thing being called "light duty". It seems to be very stout. I can't imagine what medium, heavy and extreme duty must be like.
