Rivet tools

To those who use these rivet tools. How does this work?

My sicklebar mower sections use 5mm beveled rivets. Both the bar and the section blades have beveled holes. Currently I remove the bar from the mower. Use a hand grinder to grind out the beveled rivet head on the old section. Knock off the old section with a hammer. Chisel the remaining stub off smooth with the bar. Then punch out the rivet from the bar.

Does this tool just press the entire rivet out of the bar/section without all that work above? Will it work on metric rivets?

Here are the instructions. I haven't used it to remove one with the rivets still in the bar yet.

Thank you.

I know I would have to remove the blade as mine is a double action mower. Cutting blade moves one direction while the rock guard moves in the opposite direction.

One thing I am concerned about is mine is metric rivets. 5mm, that is about .20 inch. As it is smaller than the normal .25 inch rivets, I wounder if it would be any problems.

It does remove the entire rivet. I just punched one out of a bar to try it. My rivets are 3/16" (.187)
