Looking for a good RFM model, make, size, and Rear Dischardge or Flail? Price is important!! For a CK20S Hydro.

Thanks

KC

I have a Bush Hog RDTH-60 and paid $1200 for it new last year on a dealer close out. Could not be happier with it. If you have several acres to cut you might want a 6' model. Get a heavy duty good brand name one because it will be with you forever. The bargain models do not cut as well as I tried about half dozen before I decided on my Bush Hog. The five and six hundred models just do not cut the same and I do not imagine their durability is much either.

Will be cutting 2 to 3 acres when it all done.

I'm not particularly partial to any brand as long as it's rear discharge. I have a 7ft. Kioti that I believe is a rebadged Italian unit. Otherwise, I guess if I was buying a new one now I would go with Landpride only because I have other implements by them and they seem sturdy. Befco would be my second choice.

A 5' RFM would do fine on that size lot. If you had 4 or five acres you could tell the difference in a 5' and a 6'. Of course if you do not have a lot of trees and got a deal on a 6', I would still go for it. Don't much care what brand, just get a good one.

I agree with daBear. 5' would be enough for this size lot. Rear discharge is the way to go now. I now have a Woods PRD7200 72" rear discharge that of the three 72" RFM mowers I have owned is by far the best. In my experience Land Pride, Bush hog, and Woods make the best mowers. These are high dollar mowers. I did try to go cheap years ago with a 72" Caroni. I'll never do that again.

I bought a Land Pride 7ft rear finish mower with a side discharge used for $600 a few years ago. It had two flat tires and all four tires needed replacing. I upgraded to solid tires, which was pricey, but worth it. I also replaced all three blades and the belt.

One thing that I like about Land Pride is they are serviced by all Kubota dealers now. I just walk in, order what I need and know that it's on it's way. Great support and service!!!
