return to neutral on HST 955 4w4

Ok, so today I picked my 1997+ 955. Really good price with 70A loader. But I see immediately it needs some work.
My 1st problem....it doesn't return to neutral when I take my foot off the forward OR reverse. Just keeps going.
2nd problem is the master brake seems to just brake the right side, although with the tractor not returning to neutral, who knows. The steering brakes seem to work...ie they lock up the respective wheel when operated.

Looking over the tech manual (downloaded?), indicates there is a neutral return spring to adjust (it may be gone entirely) and linkage to adjust. Anyone had this problem?

I am certain I will have more questions....my 1st CUT....and I have only had the 425 for 6 months, but it is doing just fine.

The neutral return spring could be broken or missing. More likely, the lever the spring is attached to is probably sticking. There is a grease fitting on this pivot, but it is not easily seen, so many people never grease them. Usually removal of that lever and cleaning up pivot point and bushing is required to fix. This pivot point adjusts the neutral so tractor does not creep. You will need to readjust after you free it up.

Also looks like the parking brake lock may contribute to uneven braking etc......... Maybe.
