When I retired over 20 years ago (well it was redundancy/early retirement) I got asked if I wanted a watch or what. I got a set of 6 silver wine goblets. I've been working very hard at trying to wear them out, ever since.

The company I worked for didn't give you anything like that at retirement. We would get a silver service (lapel) pin every 5 years. At 20 years they would be gold with a diamond in it for every 5 years of service. When you hit 35 years you were given a catalog to select a gift out of. Nice gifts too. I retired w/32 years so I missed out on the biggie.

I was a state employee for 31 years...we all know how lavishly civil servants are treated. One attachment shows my 30 year certificate, the state would issue one for you every five years of service...and when you got to the 30 year mark you were qualifed to select a gift...I chose the decorative 8 1/2 inch plate shown in the other attachment. Wow. My gold watch was gifted to me by my co-workers.

No gold watch, but I was given a mantel clock, I guess they figured we,ll just sit on the couch and watch the time go bye.

As long as I remember what days the dump is closed I'm good. Loaded the truck once and went, closed. Go home and unload it all so racoons don't scatter it.
So, gotta remember dump closed Thursday & Sunday.
