Restoring '59 Ford 871 SOS Diesel

I got this tractor from a friends estate and I am starting to restor it. I have heard many good & bad reviews of this tractor but because it was a friends I decided to restor it to use on my 40+ ac farm. It is running pretty good smokes alot till warm then just smokes.It had a Ford HD loader that works good. Is there any one that has any advice on restoring it besides junking it???

First rule of tractor restoration: Don't even consider restoration unless you know for sure you can get parts at a reasonable cost.

Right now I'm restoring a 1951 Massey Ferguson BF tractor.

Bought it non-running for $1300. Engine needed complete rebuild ($1600). I'll have $4-5K invested in that tractor before I'm finished. Right now I'm hung up on finding a replacement water pump.
