I have owned a Satoh S630D Bull since 1990. Unfortunately it has sat since 1999 under a tree 20 miles away without being started or looked after except to make sure no one bothered it. Finally got a chance and the time to get it to my homestead.

Cleaned the fuel system out, put on a new fuel filter and bowl. I made sure the fuel system was primed and I put the battery out of my pickup in it. I fired it up. No smoke and everything worked. I still have to change oil and hydraulic fluids.

Needless to say I was lucky. This little Tractor has a heart all it's own and has proven time and time again it is a winner.

Slingin' Bull since 1990.

I bought a Satoh Buck a couple years ago that had sat for about 10 years, but that was inside a shed!

Pay really close attention to the cooling system. I would absolutely check the level right now, then flush and fill that, too! I didn't think to check mine before I started running it a little, and it had gone dry. Hoses were bad, too, so check those out. They were real thin. The Rad needed a good cleaning out inside, and I blew out tons of gunk from in between the cooling fins with compressed air.

Work the cooling system over real good!

When I parked it all the fluids were brand new. The radiator and cooling system are pristine inside. Hoses are good. I think everything should be built tough like this.:)

I agree with you.But when you put politics and the economy in the picture you get rich farmers and poor stock traders.tractors would keep going and the parts man would starve. So they engineer some flaws into the system to make you miserable.Naw everything man made fails regardless of how well its made. You just happen to be one of the lucky ones with a nice reliable machine.Good luck with it.

Music to the ears: The sound of a diesel engine starting after it's been sitting for a long time.

Why did you leave it set and neglected for 10 years.????

Sorry for not answering right away! Unfortunately life got in the way. My wife developed paranoid schizophrenia and left me with 2 boys 18 months and 3 years old to care for. Had no way or resources to move it or do anything with it. Now I am remarried, have a stable family and the resources to deal with it.
