Who is the tire maker? Some are a lot worse than others, I'm not impressed with the Carlisles on the front of my L3400. They're not leaking though, at least not yet.

Don't know but it's mostly a BX problem. I've had several BXs and almost all of them suffer from the one front tire leaks air syndrome. When it happened on any of my other series tractors there was always something in the tire, not on the BXs. There may be something in this R4 tire because it is going down a lot slower than the other BXs with turf tires and it has taken over a year before showing it's ugly face.

Any chance the valve core isn't fully tightened? I've had a couple like that over the years.

Haywire, I haven't heard of thornshield, what is it and how does that work. I do have a lot of hedgeapple and locust trees near by and I have always thought that I ran over a thorn while mowing. I figured one broke off before the tire surface and that is why I cannot find it.

It's just another goop you put in your tires to seal small punctures. My dealer recommended it because he said it cleans up much easier than Slime. He said when it comes time for tire changes, Slime is a real bear to deal with. I've got some kind of tree in my fence line that grows spears. It's not a locust, but the thorns are almost as long.

I recently had a tire losing air on a Honda Del Sol. Air bubbled around the rim. I took tire/wheel off, took it to tire shop, guy removed tire from rim, ran a grinding wheel around the rim, slapped some "stuff' around the rim and remounted tire. End of tire going down. Acted like he knew exactly what he was doing, charged me $5 on the spot and didn't even have to pay at the office.

Incidentally, it doesn't work with tubes. Got another flat and had to go get the tube changed. I've moved now and so have no more of those spears to deal with.

Manuf standards change, lubrication addatives change and manuals change. They changed a long time ago. Years ago my manual on my BX2200 had change all at 50 hours. For the last 6 years all my manuals say only oil and all filters at 50 hours, not hyd fluid.
