Replacing Zerk Fittings

Hello, Everyone. Okay, here's the naive question this week! I've noticed a couple Zerk fittings on my TC and on a few attachments are being stubborn and don't want to allow any grease to go through. (I've been using a Lincoln electric grease gun with rechargeable battery, very convenient.) Do you try to unstick one of these fittings first-- and if so, how? Or do you just replace the plugged Zerk? What size fitting are these/ are they all the same? And do you just unscrew them with a socket and ratchet? Screw in the new one to a certain torque? Thanks.

They should 1/4", by a whole box as they are very cheap. Don't een bother trying to free them.

I usually remove the plugged ones. Then try cleaning out the zerk and squirting grease through the zerk while it is out. If it works and grease goes through the zerk, then replace and try greasing it on the machine. If it still doesn't work then the pin/machine fitting is plugged. Usually requires removing the pin and cleaning out the openings in the pin. Usually gets plugged with dirt and a small wire will work to clean it out. Ocassionally I have used a very small drill bit and "drill out the dirt". The lower loader pins are often in the dirt more and it not greased frequently, will plug with dirt.
