I swear I've seen a post on this but I cannot find it. For those familiar with the Power Trac mower, the front wheels are casters and the rear wheels are fixed with no swivel action (see attached image). The problem is that, depending on slope and ground conditions, turning can easily cause these rear wheels to dig in and rip the grass up.

I know at least one other person here has swapped these rear wheels for casters. Does anyone have a link to that post or a solution they came up with to alleviate this digging in issue. I know others have suggested more gradual turns but sometimes that is not practical.

Thanks!

Yeah. Someone did it. I can't recall who. I recall long arms with similar casters on all four corners. The concerns were the rear deck casters hitting the front wheels of the tractor, back at the time the discussion started. Will search for it a bit.

Geez. After searching all his posts, I think he took down all his pictures of it. :(

I was bored, sore and sitting on the couch!
My wife put a fit-bit tracker on me Monday.... I averaged 5.5-6 miles per day at work Mon, Tue and Wed, but yesterday I went 10.5... so I had a cube steak sandwich, potatoes and a beer... and sat on the couch the rest of the night!

Those factory wheels are junk. Mine barely made it one year until they started wobbling and leaning. I went to Grainger and bought some good rubber on steel wheels with long roller bearings in them. They work great and still working. They have grease zirks on them as well and I think 1000lb. load rating. No problems since and I have more than 7 years on them.

Whaaa??? You want to see pictures of something you're interested in?? That's crazy talk! hahahaha

I wish those pictures were still on TBN. Don't know why he pulled them. I can't find them in the way back machine, either.
