replacing cam also valve springs?

I saw where when you are replacing the plastic gear cam on a 425 that you need to go to a different valve spring? Is this the case? What are they heavier and can take more force due to a steel gear?

As long as you're in there and doing the work, yes ---- springs, tappets and push rods. Not a lot of $ ---------

What kind of tool do you guys use in holding the small square bolt on the rocker arms when adjusting the valves? It would take a very small crescent wrench or a pair of needle nose pliers just your thoughts?

Sears used to sell "Tappet Wrenches" singular or in a set. You may check and see if they still offer them. Tappet wrenches look like regular wrenches but are very thin. Craftsman.com. Got a grinder and a old wrench in the size needed, grind the sides off.

Been a while since I did it but I think I just used a metric wrench. Don't recall needed to do or use anything special. Pretty straight forward: Loosen nut. Adjust gap. Tighten nut. Recheck gap.
