Mahindra 2538
Does anyone know of a cheaper replacement for the lower lift arms of the 3 point hitch on a 2538 other than the Mahindra factory parts? The Mahindra parts cost over $300 just for one lift arm!

You are probably wondering why I need the arms replaced. I bought the tractor used with about 250 hours on it. Most of the tractor is in great shape but the previous owner used it for snow removal/salting. I removed the back hoe to find the bearings in the lower arms completely rusted and seized up. I tried just a out everything to get them to break free.

I would work at them with whatever different penetrants etc to free them up, including a torch if you can safely use it in the area. If they are totally useless you might get a PRO welder to cut off the old swivel eyes and weld new ones on - the weldable ends aren't very expensive just be sure to have a competent welder do the welding if you can't.

Do you think you can install one of these at a cost of around 170.00 from Agri Supply. Could be a better option than replacing or rebuilding the arms.

A friend brought a pair of lower lift arms to me for help. All four of the swivel eyes were rusted up and would not move. I put a large bar - 1 1/8" diameter - in my vice and slipped on one eye. Continuous pulling/pushing - WD40 - torch heat. Once we got it broken free and moving - it was just a matter of time and continued pushing/pulling. It took around four hours and a few beers but we got all four broken free and cleaned up.

I lube all four of my swivel eyes twice a year. Completely remove > swivel the eye so nasty black grease is applied to the entire eye surface. Reposition the eye into its normal position - wipe down to remove all external grease.

I bent mine when using the backhoe. They somehow came unhooked and I backed up…$500 later for two😭

Necro thread, but I figured this might help others.

I bought 2 of these, bolted right up and work great.

Maybe an inch shorter than factory, but $95, so yeah. Of course I replaced both, but even at $190, better than factory at $425 for 1

If they are straight still you can have the ends cut off and new ends welded on.
