I am looking to replace a couple of loader cylinders on my B7500. However, I don't want to spend the extra money to buy them from Kubota. I plan to get them from Surplus Center or Bailey's. The rods are 1 inch and the outside of the cylinder measures 1 7/8 inch. I'm not real familiar with hydraulic cylinder wall thickness but I'm guessing these are 1 1/2 inch bore and not 1 3/4 inch bore. Does that sound correct?

Why do they need to be replaced? Are they bent?

I would guess they are 1 1/2" bore. Like Kenny asked, are they too damaged to reseal? Finding cylinders that don't need modifying to work may be tough. If they are like my BX, they will have crosstube ends, which makes it a common configuration, but finding ones with the correct retracted length and stroke may be difficult.

Yes the rods on the lift cylinders are slightly bent and will not completely retract. It was an unfortunate incident when I let a friend use my tractor. Obviously, a poor decision that will not get repeated.

You might check with a hyd shop for new shaft and seals for those cyl and compare their price for two new surplus cyl.

Assuming you feel comfortable disassembling the cylinders, you might want to check with Kubota to see if the rods are available independently.

I know if it were me who caused the problem, I would surely help cover the repair costs.

Especially when this was damage caused by abuse......if they are bucket tilt cyls then he was back-dragging with the bucket chiseled down.....

The "Friend" needs to get a bill for repairs after the smoke clears.....if it was a rented machine he'd pay for all costs associated with the damage...maybe even brand new OEM cyls.......

Why should the owner pay for this.....Ouch..!!
