Anyone know what motor can be used to replace two of the parker wheel motors and will still fit the hubs on my 10 year old pt 1425. It seems pt has gone to a new motor and they no longer sell paker. Making that switch requires 4 new motors and 4 new hubs since the shaft is not the same.
I must have suffered some damage from my pump meltdown of two months ago. The pump works fine now but Im leaving a trail of oil all over the snow.
I contacted bill walsh at parker but even they arent sure of the specs on the motors they sold to pt. I sent him digital pics of the motor and hes trying to figure out a replacement.

have you taken your wheel motors to a hydraulic shop to verify that the motors are bad? even if they are, they should be to rebuild them if the housing is not damaged. i have a 10 yr old pt-1445, and i thought i had a leaking motor also, but it turned out to be a pin hole in the hose and was spraying on the motor. you might also get away with the same hubs, for instance, if the hub you have now is an 1 1/4 taper, and the new motor is 1 1/2, a machine shop could enlarge the old hub to 1 1/2 . what are the numbers on your parker motors?

JJ, Yes I am sure the main seal is leaking. I have had the main seals go on the rear Parker motors 4 times. I had a JD dealer rebuild them twice and PT rebuild them twice. None of the rebuilds held up for more than 6 months. PT only guarantees thier work for 30 days. Thay told me although the bushings are replaced enough wear occurs to the shaft from the bushings that the Parker motors can not be rebuilt. Thay told me that after they charged me twice yo rebuild them. They did not offer me a credit for the expenses I already incured because the warranty is only 30 days. However for $1700 thay will send me 4 new motors and hubs. I am trying to avoid that much expense. The number on the motor I pulled is 069-141-fp-o-tt-15-94. As you know PT uses all propietary parts with the orignal factory labels removed. I never thought about machining the hubs to fit a different motor what does that cost. I am still left with the original problem of not knowing the specs on the Parkers so I can get a replacement pair to match. PT as allways feels that info is top secret and wont tell a customer anything about the propietary parts they use. I just went through this with them on the pump.

Took the 425 out of the garage yesterday and found I had a flat tire. Changed the tire and let sit for a few hours and came back to find I had oil on the rim. wiped it off and drove the tractor back into the garage. Looked this morning at the rim and did not find any oil.
Now the question, did I break the wheel motor but if not where is the oil coming from?PJ

Paul,

Inspect between the wheel motor frame mount and the wheel hub. Suspect either a wheel motor seal, or a leaking hose connection to the wheel motor. I think Charlie had a weeping hose connection to one of his wheel motors. If it's a hose connection, just tighten it up abit.

good luck, let us know what you find

Paul,

While your in there, record any and all manuf. names and numbers off of the wheel motor. We are all curious what the new PT425s are using for higher torque wheel motors.

Will do, waiting for the temperature to get above zero.

Well, I pulled the wheel again and checked for any area that looked like oil leaking.
To tell you the truth, after cleaning the entire wheel motor I could not detect where this oil could have come from. The most logical would be from the drive hub, which I will keep a close watch on. I did check the oil reservoir and it showed about half a quart low.

To heck with the temperature, need to get this information.
I pulled the wheel to check for oil leaking (see above post) and these are the numbers I found on the Parker motor.
CEO13999 is stamped on the top (see attachment) and under the motor are the numbers 25C3N (no picture).
Hope this helps.

Paul,

Interesting that the motors look to mount differently than the last version of the PT425.

I have a yard tractor that leaks past an oil seal (Hydro tranny) only when the temps get below 20 F. The rubber oil seals get pretty hard at those temps. Keep an eye out, and let us know.

Thanks for the picture.
