Grand L Kubota 3540
I had to replace my leach fields in December do to a blockage after 50 years, not complaining. Contractor because of the weather finished the job in December up here in upstate New York. During the new installation, the weather went from very wet to frozen dirt during that replacement the contractor trying to cover up the 3, 50 foot leech fields along with the distribution box using a 45 hp Bobcat excavator covering trenches dirt was freezing. It is now the middle of March and upstate New York and I am trying to figure out the easiest way to repair my lawn in that area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a grand El Kubota 3540 with back blade, York rakes, but I’m concerned that it may be too heavy to use over the leach field trenches as the tires are loaded and I am concerned that it’s just too much weight. I do have a John Deere X570 with some chain Harolds and have to get in some top soil to fill in the trench voids.

Chain harrow would be a good idea. They're not heavy and can be pulled around by a four wheeler or a rider mower like yours. They work pretty good for leveling dirt and leave an area that is prepped for seeding. They do a nice job on a driveway too

If you used N12, (10K crush) pipe, you are fine. If you used the cheap pipe, keep the Kubota off the leach field. I'm a big fan of the heavier rated pipe....

Thank you for your response, I was thinking that way too, but had all attachments for my L3540 it is quite heavy so I’ll work it with the X570 and the chain harrow and a 4’ land plane just to be safe!
Thanks again.

Thank you for your response, Contractor used all triple pipe green& white septic leech field pipe, I’m just hesitant on
grand L 3540 because tires and loaded and BB along with rake are super heavy duty, Maybe just to heavy

With the heavier pipe you will be fine. I used my L3710 to do all the backfilling and grading on my leach field.

If I had used the lighter pipe I would have used a much smaller garden tractor and taken days to do the job. The bigger tractor got things done in a few hours.
