Removing rear wheel

I'm getting the manuals in three weeks time - but in the mean time I have a puncture on my rear turf tyre. How do you get the wheel off a B1750 - is that a locking mechanism?

The hole is on the wall on off the tyre - could i just plug it? The tyre is a little perrished and cracked - I don't like the idea of breaking it down!

I'm not familiar with your model but I can't think of any locking mechanism that would prevent you from taking the tire off. On my B2400 with R4's you need to be able to jack it up about 20" to get the tire off the ground. After that it's just a case of bursting the nuts loose and taking it off. Remember to block the front tires so it doesn't roll off the jack. That's happened to me while changing a flat while in the pasture. I didn't think it would roll while it was on the soft ground ... I was wrong.
Personally, I don't like using plugs so I take it to the tire dealer and have them put a "boot" or patch on the inside to cover the hole and install a tube in the tire.

If it is in the side wall, you need to take it to a tire shop. Not the one that you would take your car to, but a shop that handles large tires. They have the items needed to fix the hole right, where you would not have any more problems with it later on.

The easiest way to "break" the lug nuts free is to loosen them while the full weight of the machine is on the tire. Just begin to loosen them. Jack the tractor up and then finish removing the nuts/bolts.
Remember to block the opposite tire so the machine doesn't roll of the jack.
An inner tube would probably work as a fix.
