The way to tell is, if it is a double action, the guard bar and the sickle bar both will move in and out and single action, only the sickle bar moves in and out. Ken Sweet

I have looked at the deer sickle bar mowers and I think they are double action sickle bar mowers. The guard and cutting bar both move in and out.

KB9UDE those are really nice looking mowers and I think they arey are made in Italy by a company called Maschio (spelling?).

We sell the new Superior brand double action with hydraulic cylinder for $3695 + modest shipping. $3450 with no hydraulic cylinder. They are made in Italy by the company that invented this technology about 25 years ago, G&S. Ken Sweet

Ken that is great looking work on the IH mowers. Do you have pics or a link on the Superior mowers? I wanted to study up on them as I would like to have a sickle bar mower for mowing banks and trimming roads.
