Redneck Fix

The boot on the front shaft was torn open when I bought the tractor. I got a new boot, but could not figure out how to disconnect the shaft. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Thats where the redneck fix comes to help - used old bicycle tube to wrap it with - see the photo. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Exactly.

Using a hose clamp is cheating /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif when you're down yonder. It's a lot more fun if you can replace that baling wire & tube a couple times a year /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I do the same thing except that I use self vulcanizing tape it works just great.

I see your point - not really expecting for it to last, but I have to finish horse fence first before i can start wrenching on the tractor.

Wait, my Jeep needs new clutch and most likely new engine and the grass is growing again and wife is asking for a picnic table and than there are those logs I said I will rip with chainsaw mill to make boards to build the fort for kids and my buddy needs help to run electricity in his barn and ... well maybe this temporary fix is gonna be there for a while /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
