I don't know if prices for used tractors in Alabama are high or not, but used tractors here in Kentucky sure are. Tractors in the 1970s years that is in the 50s PTO range that sold for $7,500 to $8,000 new believe it or not they still want this price for these tractors in Kentucky, and sometimes higher than this. The Ford 5610 and 6610 tractors that were made in the 1980s are real popular tractors in Kentucky. If they are in any kind of shape they will sell for around $12,000 to $13,000, or more. Forget about trying to get a cab in this size Ford here. The last Ford 6610 tractor with cab that had around 4000 hours on it that was in pretty nice shape for that year tractor, the dealer wanted $16,500, and would not come down one red cent. I did find another 6610 ford with cab for $14,500, but everything on this tractor was in bad shape with high hours. All 4 tires were worn out. I would not have given $8,000 for this tractor.

fastline has a web site. Just google fastline. They have ads galore. I would not buy used or recondition unless I could save say 50%. Of course that would not include a 2 yr old big 3 with low hrs.

If I were to try to buy a tractor here that was by the big 3 with low hours that was 2 years old, I might as well go and buy a new tractor, because dealers here want just about a new price for these tractors.

Yikes... Here.. if it has a few character marks.. and a few years old.. they do at least knock enough off to make it worth looking at.

I looked up Kentucky tractors on the Fastline web site and I think Prices are about the same as here in KS. I did see some pomissing 50 to 80 hp tractors. Did you have a chance to look? Also think about when u may want to resale the tractor u buy.. Resale values have to be considered. I think that as the big prob with your 15000.00 rebuilt massey. I think you would take a huge depreciation hit right away..... I know old boys who sold there deeres used for more than they bought new......I don't think this is the case now but it has happened. Deere has the best resale value I think. They call it green gold. I can't afford them though.........

Yes, I have looked at all the Kentucky tractors on Fastline, plus tractors all over the United States.

After I have thought it over, I am not going to purchase that 390 recondition Massey Ferguson tractor. I don't think it would be a good buy at $15000.00.

The more I think about used tractors here in Kentucky selling so high, I probably would be better off buying a new tractor. I really like the new 675 Farmtrac tractor at 65 PTO horsepower. The dealer here stated me a price on this tractor about the same as a lot of dealers want for a used tractor this same size eat up with high hours, and all 4 tires worn out. This tractor has about all I want on a tractor. It has a Perkins 4 cylinder engine, 12X12 shuttle drive, joy stick for the 2 remotes, independent & ground speed 540 rpm PTO, wet multi disc hand operated ratchet type parking brake, plus it is a flat platform deck tractor. I really like a platform tractor. But, I have not made up my mind to buy this tractor, because I am still looking at other tractors.

I don't know if these Massey dudes that you call them know about these recondition tractors, or not. My post about recondition Massey Ferguson tractors from England are the first ones on this post that I have seem. But, I could be wrong, there might be some post about these tractors that I haven't seen before.

Some people like recondition tractors, and some don't. I don't know anything about them, because I have never had one before.

u could look at mahindra, kioti, and chineese tractors. (Kama makes some in your hp range.) I have seen used Kioti cab tractors sell for what I thout were good deals. I think it is a dk55 or turbo charged gets more hp same tractor. I think they have air cond? But I think new would be out of your price range a little. I looked at a smaller long agratrac at a local farm show. I too thought it was nice. I don't think your resale value will be there.. If I was laying that much $ I would really consider resale value.. I am cheap though and there are other values to consider. If you think you'll get your money worth then go for it......I think jd 6303 are about 33,000.00 best price new......

I have taken a look at all the different brand tractors that you have stated in your post. The new Kioti DK65/C tractor with cab is the cheapest tractor at 55 PTO horsepower that I have found here in Central Kentucky, besides the Chinese tractors by Foton 4X4 with cab. There is a Kioti dealership here in my county. The chinese tractor dealerships are about 175 to 200 miles from me in the other side of the state. If possible, I want to buy a new tractor from a dealership near me, if I buy a new tractor.

John Deere tractors are very nice, but I don't think they are worth the high price compared to other brand tractors. Other brand tractors will do the same for me that a John Deere will do for a lot less money. I know there are pros and cons to comparing a John Deere to other brands for some people, but that is my honest opinion.

I don't consider resale to much when I buy a tractor. Big time farmers really consider resale when they buy new tractors. I am not a big time farmer, and I will be keeping this tractor for some time. If farmers would service, and take care of their tractors, they would last for years. My dad bought one of those little 600 ford tractors in 1957, and gave it to me right before he died in 1996. Right after that I gave it to my son to keep his 5 acres mowed, because I did not need it at the time. The tractor runs like a top today, because we took care of it, and always serviced it.

Now I am needing a tractor larger than the little 600 Ford for my 112 acre farm that I bought late last summer.

I don't know what a tractor the size of this 390 Massey Ferguson would sell for new. This tractor is a 70 PTO horsepower. Massey Ferguson doesn't make this 390 tractor anymore. I have no idea what a new 70 PTO horsepower tractor sells for in whatever number they make it in with a 70 PTO horsepower. I would say probably around 20K, or maybe a little less according to the dealers that a person checked with.

The dealer told me he would give me a 1 year warranty with this 390 recondition Massey Ferguson tractor.

We may have jumped the gun on our first opinion of the price!
I think you should get a Kioti if you can afford it. You have local dealer support and those cab tractors are really nice.... I would want heat and air with a cab but think they have it.. I think Kioti is really good new brand.. They are Daedong made in Korea. They are making some of the Cub Cadets now.... I think u can get a quick attach loader. I would run over there and check them out.......I think you would get 15k use out of that Massey if you keep it long enough. Bottom line is what do you like? Another manf.,.. is Zetor they make Branson and Century tractors.......I think they are good too......

You are right about all the tractors that you stated in your post. I really like the DK65/C Kioti tractor. It has so many things on it that is standard, that other brand tractors have optional. Also, it is the cheapest brand 55 PTO horsepower 4X4 tractor with cab, besides the the Chinese tractor made by Foton.

If you would like to take a look at this Chinese tractor by Foton, I will post below the web site of the company here in the United States that have these tractors. There are several dealers for these tractors in Illinois and Indiana, and 3 dealers in Western Kentucky.
