1994 Massey 1190; 2023 Massey 4707
Hi all, new member here. I just bought a '94 1190 with about 2500 hours to use in my small plot ag research business. In the recent years I've spent time here learning bits and pieces, but now that I have my own machine I figured it was time to join.

I have a few questions as I get started:
1) Where is the best place to find operators and service manuals

2) How many 1190s we're made... It seems hard to find many examples of them on the market or in use. Is it uncommon?

4) The fuel gauge isn't working... What is the usual culprit?

3) The tires are filled with ballast... Does that mean that I'm likely unable to change the width of the wheels on my own with simple tools due to the weight?

Anything else I need to know right away?

1. Ebay
2. Made by Iseki with Isuzu engine I think - they look really cool
3. sending unit - take it out and see if the resistance changes when you move the float up and down
4. you can change the wheel spacing. Take the wheel off and keep it as vertical as possible and walk it in or out - don't try to catch it if it starts to lean over to much - your not strong enough ot keep it from falling over and it will probably hurt.

Had to work out of town for a few days after buying my 1190, but I finally got it home this evening... Had to take a drive around the neighborhood.

Very nice tractor. You will be able to get a lot of work done with it. Yes be very careful when you take the loaded tires off. JeepCJ7 said it as good as it can be said. Keep us updated

I did a poor job of following up on this post, but I can catch up a little now.

Thankfully, there's not a lot to say... it's been an awesome little tractor and has done it's job very, very well.

Business is growing and we need a little more tractor... something with a cab to protect from ag chemicals when spraying, and a platform that makes sense to put auto steer onto. So I bought a new Massey 4707.

I'm planning to keep this 1190 because it's worth more to me than it's worth to others.

The only issue I've had is the PTO fuse intermittently gets blown while running the PTO. I've traced all the wiring, and cannot find a problem. I've determined that the electric/hydraulic solenoid is sticky at times, and if it sticks it causes the fuse to blow. The worst part about it is that the PTO and the fuel pump are on the same fuse, so when the PTO fuse blows, the tractor shuts off instantly. Local dealer cannot find the parts, so my only option is junkyard or a deep dive in the Internet for old stock somewhere.

It leaks a little oil, but it's tricky to determine where the leak is. For now I'll deal with parking over cardboard, but maybe I'll tear into it over the winter.

Lucky, that PTO issue seemed to be a problem for a couple months and has been working better since. Still, I need more reliability since it's a core part of my business and expect to be able to rely on the new 4707.

I still really like this 1190 and I'll keep it forever if I'm able to.
