John Deere F935
Recently purchased a F935 that had only 365 hrs. on it. Purchased four for the sewage plant and they gave one to the parks & recreation dept. They used it only on the ball fields for a short while. The mower was a 1996 model (told to me) and was left out.
It looked rough but runs good (so far). Carrying it to my farm to mow around 5 acres of lawn.
A thought I had was use it for this mowing season then carry it to a John Deere dealer to check it out and repair anything that is necessary and put it top condition (for hopefully a reasonable amount). ANY SUGGESTIONS?????
Plus, interested in a blade attachment. Possibly some others as well. Any estimates on the various costs there? Perhaps a good source of used attachments that anyone is aware.

These are great mowers: commercial grade, fast ground speed and excellant fuel economy. I put Gator blades on mine to chop up pastures, leaves and twigs. Its a LOT older than yours), a hydraulic kit (the second valve spool is already on yours. All you need is the lever and some hoses and fittings. That would get you plow angle). Have them check the glow plugs, the flex coupler between the engine and the transmission and grease the bearing where the pto shaft attaches. There is a well hidden zerk fitting there.

A couple of places (stores) on eBay to get used extra parts (like the 2nd fuel tank, lift arms, head lights, seat armrests, etc). I added a 3:1 gearbox reducer so I can run a 540 rpm alternator or water pump off the front pto. I'd consider a log splitter add-on if it can be easily fabricated. I hook my leaf vacuum up to it and suck leaves, branches, acorns and an occasional brick or stone form the driveway. Have never killed it, but not a good idea to run it out of diesel fuel.

There have been some elecrical issues related to mouse chewing that they are infamous for.

Thanks for the advice. I'll certainly follow it. Think it'll be a great mower. Have heard mostly +'s and am looking forward to getting it to the farm and actually using it. I'll certainly stay in touch to keep you up to date. Plus, I'm sure I'll have many mower questions as I use the mower this year.

All of these are compatible with the F935? Hope so! If so I will be interested in a few of them for our use. Thanks!
