Dealership called yesterday and said they could deliver my new CK 4020HSE with cab today. It arrived about 9:00 AM and looks great. The whole buying experience was very good. The dealer didn't add in extras or fees and didn't even require a deposit or down payment for my order. They delivered the machine and I paid the driver with a cashier's check. While talking to the delivery driver he told me that this dealer was selling more than 400 Kioti tractors a year making it the #1 dealer in the nation. That really surprised me because the dealership is located by itself out in rural NC and 30 minutes from a town of any real size.

Didn't get to play with it much because the grandchildren are visiting this weekend and we are trying to spend our time with them.

My biggest concern with the tractor that I will have to work through is how to reposition the tractor when using the backhoe since it has a cab. I am used to a small Kubota tractor without a cab where I could reach up front and operate the loader while seated in the backhoe position. It will also take a few hours to get used to the controls being different. I really like the hydrostat pedals better than the treadle but a couple of times while moving the tractor I automatically tried to use my heel to move in reverse before catching myself.

Looking forward to putting the new machine to work.
Always great to hear about a great dealer!!!

Y'know, you could have put the grand kids in the tractor...a bucket-load of kids for a picture would have been pretty cool. That way you would have had shared play time--grand kids and a new tractor, the best of all worlds! What a blessed guy!
I am definitely a blessed guy! God is good!

The grandkids took most of my energy last week but we had fun. The firepit I built this spring has been a real hit.

Got to play with my new toy today. Successfully dropped the backhoe off in about 10 minutes. Just hope it doesn't take too long to put it back on.

It has been very dry this month of September and when I put the flail mower on I created a huge cloud of dust from the bare spots as a result of Hurricane Helene. I am going to enjoy the cab! No dust on me and no allergy side effects. Didn't give much thought to buying a tractor with a cab until this summer when I got access to a skid steer that had a cab. Having AC in the 95 degree weather makes a huge difference and when I ran over several yellow jackets nest I just smiled as they swarmed the windows.

I tried out the backhoe before I dropped it to remove some tree roots and it seems to be pretty powerful. Being used to a Kubota BX backhoe I tended to get too close to my work and had to reposition a couple of times.

The move from a treadle to pedals is coming along but sometimes that muscle memory takes a while to retrain.

Two other things that will take some getting used to are: to start the tractor your foot has to be on the brake and sometimes finding the right spot for neutral to start up takes a couple of tries.

Tomorrow I plan to weld some hooks on the loader bucket.

One demerit for no thumb on the backhoe. But if you've never had one you don't know what you're missing. You can always add one later.

Looks like Kioti has come a long way since my 2005 CK 25 HST was built! I bought it used in 2014 with 730hrs
Now has 1,370hrs!!!
I’m getting ready to change the tranny and hydraulic fluid again and was wondering the best place to purchase the filters? Any help would be appreciated….Thanks in advance!!!👍🏻

I purchase all my supplies except fluids from my local dealer. Doing so helps the dealers stay in business. The best way to bankrupt the small dealers it to purchase everything online. Then when you need some shop time repairs, there no longer in business.

I'm contemplating taking the manual thumb off my Kioti KB2475 backhoe, to be honest. It's barely functional. Ok, you can pinch a log or a rock by curling the bucket against it. But then what? Move it a couple feet? It's not like you have much reach with a little backhoe to really do anything. And you surely aren't going to drive the tractor around with something heavy held by the backhoe. Plus getting on and off the machine to wrestle the manual sliding thumb in and out, and re-pinning it to a new position.... just a waste of time, in my experience.

Now a hydraulic thumb on a mini-excavator... thats an absolute MUST.

That's a pretty good time for a first attempt! After many on/off cycles with mine, I find it tends to get stuck in the subframe mounts now. And I have to chain/strap it to a tree to jerk ahead in low range until it pops free and comes free and starts sliding back out of the mounts. What sucks is that it often holds firm until I try hard enough, and then it falls all the way off, and then I have to get it back into the mounts just so that I can drive to its actual parking spot in a shed to then take off again. Lesson: grease the crap out of the subframe slots when you put it back on.

It does generally take longer to put on, depending on how skillfully you have it stored for access and level, etc. But as long as you can back over the subframe enough to reconnect the hydraulics, you can then use the backhoe hydraulics themselves, to help maneuver it into alignment and shove itself into the mounts.

Two other things that will take some getting used to are: to start the tractor your foot has to be on the brake and sometimes finding the right spot for neutral to start up takes a couple of tries.

Wait, what? Is this a new Kioti feature? My 2019 CK3510 doesn't need to be in neutral to start. That would be a huge PIA - sorry to hear that. Maybe you can override/jumper that switch? To be honest my brake pedal switch is also flaky, usually I do need to press the brake at least a tiny bit to start, but it seems like once I've been using the machine a bit and it is warmed up, I no longer need to. If I am in the drivers seat its a no brainer to just put your foot on the brake pedal. But sometimes I start mine while standing beside it, to make a minor adjustment on the front loader or 3-pt. So usually I remember to put a hand on the brake pedal when starting, but sometimes I forget and it still starts right up, oddly.
