A chunk out of the seal generally isn't root cause, that might be why it will bypass or leak but figuring out what caused that is important. We see it happen time and again here, you reassemble the cylinder and it won't be long before another magical chunk is missing.

Ok I have a 300cx loader and one of the cylinders started pouring fluid today is there any where I can find a how to on repairing it I'm very capable just would like to not go in blind

Thanks to all of the contributors, I have a high level of confidence regarding an upcoming reseal project.
I have a couple of questions regarding re-assembly. Does anyone know the torque setting for the rod nut? Is is advisable
to use removable thread locker on the rod nut?
