It's mostly back together now, blue Loctite was indeed used on the new bolts. I just noticed in the parts catalog that the original 8.8 screws have been superseded by M8-1.25 X 20 10.9 Metric C.S. I'd also expect the torque spec increased, but have no idea where to find that... Looks like JD knows about this problem.
