Rear snowblowers

I have one. I put a power window motor on it to turn the chute. That makes it a lot nicer. But you still have to go backwards.
I bought mine used for cheap. It was the rustiest blower on the planet but it functioned great. Used it asis for two years and then refurbished it this fall. Looks brand new now.
For me, it was the only thing I could afford. But it would be nice to have a front blower.
It sure gets the job done, if you don't mind going backwards. If money is no issue get front mount.

I have a Meteor 74" rear pull-type that works great for my conditions and doesn't require looking backwards (for the most part). Some express concern about driving over the snow before it hits the blower. I have not found that to be a problem on my limited paved area, and certainly not on the more prevalent gravelled areas.
Another pull-type concern for some is driving through deep snow before blowing. Again, not a concern for me because we seldom get more than a foot at a time.
I consider the chute rotator invaluable because my layout requires several adjustments for buildings, etc.
The best type of blower, or if one is even practical, likely depends on the individual's circumstance.

A lot depends on how big the operator is. I'm not very big (5'8, 175 lbs.) and I can pretty much sit sideways and still reach the pedal and steering wheel, open the rear window to crank the manual chute and still not have to crane my neck too much.
I tried but failed to rig a key fob controlled winch to run my chute, gave up after several tries of not getting the cable wound around in way that would make it work.
My 3030 actually had a front mount blower on it when it sat on the dealer's lot, but I really needed a loader much more than a blower. Besides, I already had a like new rear blower from my previous tractor. Front mount blowers from Kubota are not low cost by any means.

The nice thing about rear blowers is that if you change tractors, they still fit.

I agree that the front mount blowers a LOT more money. The convenience is great, but I bought a used rear mount for a fraction of what a front mount would have cost me.
If I had to blow snow every week, I may have to go for the extra cost, but I only have to use my blower a couple of times a year.
And I do get a stiff neck, but with all the money I saved, it's worth it.

Had a front mount on the previous tractor and always wished that I had the option of the loader and blower. So on the new B3030 I put the 64" rear blower on and have the loader available for use and this combination works best for my use - your mileage may vary. With the HSt, I can sit sideways for the most part and limit neck pain.

I've had both and the front mount is definitely easier to use but it really depends on the amount of use and the operator. I have about a 300' driveway and during a normal winter will need it almost every day from late December until sometime in March. I never minded the rear blower in the 11 years that I owned it. I had a hydraulic chute rotator which made it nice.
I certainly like the front mount better as it is easier to use and more precise but the cost difference is considerable.

I used a rear mount snowblower for about 8-9 years on my old JD tractor..... and i had to do alot of backwards driving.
I say it all depends on how MUCH snow removal youll need to be doing. If its only a few 100 feet of driveway, thaqn its no issue.
I was spending 6-8 hours on the tractor after a moderate to bad storm here in No. Idaho at times, and it got to really mess up my neck.
after having issues with my back and neck, i have now opted for a front loader mount blower.... and even though i have only gotten 2 used out of it this season... IM IN LOVE with it..... :cloud9:

While there are advantages to the front blower... I have a Loader on the front which I have used more than once to get me "unstuck" when I get in too deep in the snow.
