kubota l 2800
Hi all ,

This may be an old subject to sum , but I want to install rear remotes on my kubota l2800. My tractor has a backhoe installed on it all ready. My queston is can I use the connection that supplies my backhoe into my new control valve ? I guess i'm looking for a single set of remotes to run my dump cart.

Thanks so much D

Perhaps this will help you? Go the the SEARCH section at the top of this page, type in "Rear remotes", scroll down and in show results, mark the post part and submit. There are several posts that should be helpful in regards to your inquiry. BTW, Welcome aboard. Best wishes.

I have a L3800 with the factory BH and went through the same thought process as you.
In my opinion it won't work. Most all spool valves require pressure in, return and power beyond lines and then the two lines that go to your working cylinder.

What type of cylinder does the dump cart have?
Double acting or single acting?

Do you have the factory front end loader?
If so tieing in a set of rear remotes to the loader valve is very simple.
That will allow you to use the remote for other purposes when the BH is attached.

thanks all for the info

My dump cart is double acting. I do have a factory installed loader. I am some what machanicaly inclined, but I am just leaning when it comes to hydraulics. I am not sure how I would connect on to loader valve?

thanks D

Initially most everyone is intimidated by the whole mysterious hydraulic system .

We can help you with this!
Don't be discouraged by the "use the search function police"

Decide how many remotes you can afford...two, three, four or more
You want at least three....that way when you put top & tilt on you will still have one remote left to use for a grapple or something.

Here's my installation on a L3800.

Think about how many remotes you want and we'll help you pick out a spool valve.

While you're doing that I'll find the PDF's to show where you will tie into the loader valve.
Is your loader a LA463?

I do have a LA463 loader.

I was only going to have one remote to run the dump cart , but I do have a woods back blade I use all the time and a top n tilt would be nice.

I thinking two remotes.

A two spool valve will run you $152.00 plus shipping
A three spool valve will run you $201.00 plus shipping

Hoses, fittings and quick connects will run about..$325.00

I'm with paulwestski, no point in doing one when two or more is minimally more expensive. There are lots of options, so give it some thought, do some reading, and we'll be glad to help out.

three remotes VS two will only cost you $51.00 more for the spool valve.

If you checked out my install I'm only using two out of the four. the two spares are capped and the control handles aren't installed.

That would save you some money by not buying the hydro lines and quick connects.

Each remotes hydro lines and QCs run about $115.00

Paul said it well.
Yes you can add a valve to your current setup, it actually is a lot easier than you think. Like he said, many people (including me) are (were) completely foreign to adding hydraulics. Its really not that difficult once you learn the basics.

I don't mean to just redirect you to a new thread and say 'here ya go' but I'm going to give you a couple threads to scan over to see if it's a project you may wanna tackle. It might help you understand more of what you may or may not want to do.

By all means ask plenty of questions, I did.
This was a very helpful thread for me, created by Teg.

Here is a report of what I did to my tractor, I tried to be very detailed and make it almost a step by step instruction, it's a rather boring read but it should be helpful.

Good information thanks

Very impressive work on your machines.

I will install a three spool valve with plans to connect two of the three at this time.

Getting some really great information here on tbn.

I see fantastic work being done by some super smart people. The more I read the more I'm understanding how the hydraulic system works , and how I will complete my project.

I'm ready to order the spool valve to start with. Any ideas on what I should order " how many gpm" ?

I think that you will be fine with the 8 gpm.
Look up the specs and see what the hydro pump puts out I think its 6/7 gpm.

Your next decision will be where to mount the spool valve?
And then where to mount the quick connects?
Your backhoe will limit the mounting locations for the quick connects.

If you have welding skills or know someone that does you could fab a bracket similar to the "Rankin"
Rankin makes a mount kit that is basically a piece of tube steel that u-bolts to the ROPS and extends towards the operators seat and the spool valve mounts to that.

I ordered my top and tilt cylinders from Fit Rite Hydraulics.

Paul,
Don't they make it look so nice and clean without all the hydraulic lines coming off of it!

My setup looks like a spaghetti mess!

I ordered a two spool 8gpm prince valve today. I'm going with the two spool because of my needs; price; and availability of space to mount and and running hoses. I like what Rankin did with his and may try the same. I am fortunate that two of my brothers are master welders and very good fabracaters. They live close by and always willing to help. I was looking at my loader valve today and am a little puzzeled as to where I will make my connection;as the Pb is already being used for my back hoe. I will need help in this area when the time comes. I am committed to this project and hoping that you folks at tbn will help me see it through. D
