I have read some of the other posts about rear finishing mowers. I was wondering if they are worth the money? And can my MF 135 pull a 7' mower. I have about 2-3 acres to mow and it is wearing out my little 38" riding mower. I have been wondering about these mowers for a while. What is the one that is the best and worst? I appreciate all of y'alls help in this forum--it really helps us newbees.

Not sure about your MF 135 pulling a 7’ RMM. But I was able to pull a 5’ woods behind a Kubota B-6000 (~10 hp PTO) with out any problems. It would cut through some pretty heavy grass and even some small saplings.

From what I can tell the MF 135 is in the 45 hp range, if so, you should have no problems.

Good luck,

Gary

The answer depends on the PTO Horse Power and lift capacity of your 3 Point Hitch.

Per the info I've found, you're pretty close to 40 PTO Horsepower. You should have no problem running a 7' mower.

Mud, My 135 pulls a 6' with ease no problem at all , I'm sure as long as you don't let the grass get way overgrown it would also handle a 7' finish mower ...lot's of power in those diesel 135's ,38hp they will handle 6' rotary ,but mine came with a 5' so thats what I use..

Oh you want to cut your time from hours mowing to minutes ?

I would reccommend no bigger than 6' just because of pricing and for 3 acres you'll be done in about 59minutes...

Say, did you ever decide on your P/S and loader ideas?

I have decided to wait on adding pwr steering. I have priced some units and it seems like it is going to be a big headache for now. I think I will concentrate on getting implements for the MF. I have found a little 3 pt dirt scoop for 175 here locally and I think for the small amount of dirt I would need to move it would be worth the money. I will also need an auger and RFM for mowing. Thanks for all the ideas and support on this forum.
