JD is asking around $250.00 for the set. I dont have the part # right now I would have to go to JD.com and get it again. My dealer wouldnt come down from that price and I have checked at two different dealers. Thanks

I knew there was some reason I did not buy them LOL! I would imagiine you could fabricate your own?

Does that include the complete unit...front fender, guard, and brackets?

For a set, price seems right. If just a flap to attach to the front fenders, then it is too high. IMO :)

Whoops! Didn't read the title very well.

Can you just fab one from a stake truck mud flap?

I assume the $250 price is for the rear guards. I think the front wheel covers are nearly 2x that.

Rear fender extension kit

The open station extensions will probably look nearly the same. The list price of $228 is the same as the cab version.

Trying to fabricate your own is probably not going to be easy or work as well. You should be aware, that the gaurds will probably still not cover the entire tire. Throwing mud will still be and issue, probably just less with the extensions. You will still also get mud from the back of the tire behind the fender flinging it forward.

I found a picture of the front fenders. List price $458.

Looking at the image from the JD site, those rear fender extensions don't appear to be very wide - a couple of inches maybe?

Would something like this work?

JC Whitney has a variety of fender flare material (up to about 3 inches wide) used to protect vehicle fenders while off-roading.

If this link will work, go to JC Whitney site and use the search term "Fender Flares".

Hope this helps,

Front fender kit

Front fender kit

The front fender kit provides protection to cab glass or the operator station from mud and debris. This kit contains two fenders, mounting brackets, and mounting hardware.

Compatible with cab and open-station models.

Hmmm, JD states the kit is not compatible with mmm. I have the front fenders on my 2007 JD 3720 cab tractor with mmm and have no problems whatsoever. Maybe they changed design since then.

The compatibilty with the MMM may be with the new auto connect deck. Looks like the bottom of the guard might hit the front of the deck while driving over it.

$250 for two small strips of plastic for the rear is crazy. I know Deere has to make money but that is just nuts!
