Rear crank seal

Hey TX Jim, Having a issue with my 2240 rear crank seal. It had a national oil seal in it, rubber lip seal. Installed a JD seal wear ring seal combination and it still leaks, crank journal looked good. Any ideas

You need a spesial tool to instal them to the correct depth

I used the special tool , was unsure if you put oil on seal or installed dry.

I always put light coating of oil on the lip. Avoid cutting the lip if at all possible.

Is there any old school techs out there. That can tell me if you put oil on a JD Teflon rear crank seal on a 2240. Would appreciate this info
