I am interested in how do you swing the blade on a rear blade, such as a woods rb72 around?

I understand that there is a pin to pull, but do you just swing the blade around and replace the pin? Do you have to lift the 3 point hitch up or unhook the implement from the tractor? Unhooking doesnt seem to be reasonable every time you want to switch from push to pull with the blade.

I have a JD 3720 with the quick hitch and don't know if there is enough distance to swing the blade around. I guess the question is how far back from the tractor is the blade?

Thanks,
Matt

I don't have enough room to swing the blade w/out hiting tire on my Woods RB72...even try at 45 degree angle.

I drop stand leg on RB unhitch, pull pin rotate RB ,repin, rehitch, pull up RB stand leg and good to good..maybe 5mins to do..

Yes it would be nice to rotate 180 w/out rehitching..maybe cut and spice to lenghten frame??

Mattcage, pull the pin and try it, you'll know soon enough if you have room. Like Thomas said, you may have to unhook.

I know that when I made mine that was a predetermined requirement that it be long enough so that I could reverse the blade. I use it all the time too right now plowing snow. It does require getting off the tractor  unlike Larry's rake.

Matt - I have a Woods RB72 on a Kubota B7500. I also have the Pat's Easy Change System. I can turn the blade completely around, however, I need to lift the blade to a certain height to do it. If I remember correctly, just off the ground works, whereas lifted higher and the blade hits the rear tires. The RB72 has a pin and a number of holes for the forward and reverse operation. You remove the pin, rotate the blade to the desired angle forward or reverse, reinstall the pin.

my .02. you may gain space buy shortening the top link for your blade to spin.

I can tell you that the JD branded 6' blade on a 3320 with iMatch can be swung completely around with no problem.

I have an RB84 on Kubota L3830 and I need to disconnect it to turn it around. I have the skid shoes on it and they work well on my gravel drive keeping the blade edge 1/2-1" above the surface. You can fine tune it by changing the angle of the blade to the ground with the top link. Turing it around is a pain though. I got a 7 foot blade so that even with it angled it is still wider than the width of the tractor.

7 foot blade. Has 7 forward and 5 reverse angle settings, plus it tilts left or right and has offset. 340 pounds. $500. Can swing it around 360 degrees without unhitching it from my Kubota L3240 (when it's not offset too much). Sometimes it hits my drawbar, but then I just do as TimPa suggested and shorten the top link. Great for snow and I've used it to grade tilled soil. I have yet to really work it in the dirt. It's somewhere between light and medium duty. Hope this helps.
