rear axle seals ym2210

I think 2210 was designed 10 years after 2200/2700, with nearly everything different.

The axle design could be the same, but I don't see a reason why it would have to be.

Well, finally got it all back together. Some words of warning that might save some time for someone else. I replaced all the seals on the rear axles, pretty straight forward. I reinstalled the "wear" rings that the seals ride on. To remove these units I used a very sharp cold chisel and taped them free from the axle shafts. I replaced these rings and had to drive them on to the axle using the "pipe" like spacers to tap them into place, inserted the O-rings and used the same method to drive on the bearing and spacer ring. Had to have these spacers made locally as they are no longer available. 60X50X5 mm
Before driving on the 2nd inner bearings I used the Pipe spacers to drive on the rings, bearings and spacers on the second axle. These axles were then inserted into the axle housings before the inner bearings and spacers were installed. The axles and housings were then inserted into the housing and a second pair of hands were needed to align the large drive gears on to the shafts. The retainer bolts were inserted and tightened, both sides.
Now the worse part of the entire repair is hooking up the PTO linkages. When installing the PTO and plate as one unit, *****be sure to attach the pins, washers, and cotter pins on the lower outside linkage first, this should be done before the entire pto unit is inserted. The pins go into the linkages from the center to the outside with the cotter keys facing out. This allows the pins not to interfer with each other. I got pretty good at doing this as I dropped the washer, cotter pins too many times and had to remove the pto again as I couldn't see the items from above. What a pain!!!!!!! The center spline union has to be aligned to completely insert the pto. After that just put everything back together. I am waiting for about 24 hours for the "form a gasket" to cure before adding oil to transmission case. Then just check for leaks....... time apart, about 2 hours with power tools. Part replacement about 45 min. installing axle and housings about 20 min. PTO hook up and install, 5 attempts, 2hours. 1 hour for reassembly, brakes , tires, fenders, 3pt parts.
