Does have some thoughtful additions, for sure. Versatile and useful. I want to build one of these someday... really don't need one in my current phase of property build out. But someday I'll be more yard maintenance oriented (hopefully?).

I’m thinking about how to design a wooden box/platform that fits on top my 6’ box blade to carry tools. I.e- chainsaw, pole-saw, pitch fork, bar oil, cold drinks, etc. I figure with the grapple and box blade combo + saws…..I can disappear all weekend on the tractor.

This is exactly the path I'm taking.

The box blade is ballast for the grapple. Adding a carrier on top for the chain saw and related paraphernalia would be the perfect combo!

I like that guy's videos a lot but I have never felt much need to build a 'carry all'.

I do have some options anyway.. I have a 3pt receiver hitch, and i also have a hitch-mounted cargo basket you would use on the back of a car. I've never actually attached the two, but there's a nice little floating cart/basket right there. I have a little pallet fork thing i've rigged to slide onto the receiver hitch frame, put a pallet on that and maybe a strap to keep it from sliding off and theres a nice floating platform. I guess i have a bush hog too..

I've got a few metal lawn carts you'd pull behind a riding mower. I can already hook them to that hitch frame thing and pull them as trailers, but if i didn't want to have it pivoting on the ground behind me i'd be REAL tempted to weld a 2" square tube to the bottom of one of those and just slide it into my hitch thing and float it around behind me.

Maybe the only reason i'd have to try 5 combos of things i already have sitting around before i built a carry all is just because i have too much stuff sitting around..

My Carroll is handy when I want it. I like being able to carry stuff in there that I might bang up if in the bucket. I can carry stuff up front with the forks or bucket, and carry stuff in the back, which makes some short trips now and then instead of multiple.

Sometimes I will just put my forks on and tote the carryall around and leave it someplace. Handy as can be

I'm seriously thinking of a Greenlee or similar type locking job box to hold all my saws, gas and oil and logging straps, chains, cables and snatch block. Can't use the 3PH with the chipper or winch on the rear.
I can weld the brackets and pins for the JD quick attach right to the box.

Now that sounds like a good idea. For the rest of us, a SSQA bracket welded to the long side would be super simple.

I'm thinking maybe you put pegboard on the back of that an you have a great place to hold tools and still find them if you need them...of course you have to jury rig some elastic or rubber straps.

Love the ingenuity of rural people. Learned it from my Opa.

the sign is one of those plastic things made like cardboard. It is the top to a wooden crate. The crate with the top go over my air pump that I use for a summer aerator. The crate is a shelter from the weather and I have standard furnace filters duct taped on the inside to help keep the intake clean. The buoy is attached to the water pump foot valve assembly to keep it out of the muck, except for this year with the drought conditions;-(

I figured as much. My wife saves those signs to repurpose for yard sales. She doesn't save anything else.... I'm just lucky she hasn't got around to selling me on eBay or FB marketplace.
