Loader Real world fork capacity on B and BX series

I am in the market for a BX for general farm tasks, but also have a long term need to be able to move pallets and crates in the 500-700 lb range with occasional crates close to 1000lb. These are comercial ovens, no way to remove parts to make the load lighter. Talking to my local dealer, he says no go with the BX and from the specs I don't doubt him. Issue that he could not answer was are the specs for full height lifting or just getting it off the ground lifting. In my case, all I need to do is lift about a foot off the ground and very slowly roll about 30 feet to shove it on my drop deck trailer. Suggestions? Am I asking too much of a BX? Also, these loads are very evenly distributed across the 36" deep pallet, there is no way to adjust the load closer to fence. Thanks in advance!

I don't think that either a BX or B will lift that much weight with the loader, but they probably could with a 3 point fork attachment. My B7500 will lift around 600# with the forks on the FEL and about twice that much on the 3 point.

My Deere 1-series could do that, but it can lift 1000 lbs only a foot or so off the ground.
I assume the BX is similar capacity.

To do this, you must have LOTS of rear ballast.

Moving stuff right at the limit of your machine isn't that fun (or safe) when you have to do it all the time. Maybe consider getting a machine big enough to have some margin. Something like a L3301 with a LA765 Loader can move a 1000 lb pallet pretty easily.

I own a B3030 and believe that it would have problems picking up a 1,000lb pallet, due to the weight being far forward. The tractor is rated for 1,000lbs though. Like the previous poster said, I too believe that a L tractor would suit you better on a farm. You can never have enough power, unless you are working in confined areas or running over septic tanks areas and irrigation systems.

The B will do what you described no problem, I have a B2620 and have lifted close to 1000lbs out of the back of my 4x4 dodge bed (100kva dry transformer), moved close to 2klbs pallets of firewood at 12in or less from the ground.
My pallet forks are on the heavy side also, over 230 lbs for the forks alone plus the frame and quick attach.
My tractor does have the relief set at 2200psi, 200 over factory, but even before that it would still do what you need. The B2650 or an L would give to a little more safety margin though.

The BX might be able to do it but I wouldn't want to, the published specs should be for full height either at the pin or 500 mm forward, if you can find the breakout force for the loader arms that'll give you a good idea of what it'll lift at a lower height.

If you only need to lift something a foot or so, is there any reason you couldn't use pallet forks on a 3 pt hitch? This would keep the load close to the tractor and allow the use of any B model although my bx would have serious front end floating issues after the 500# mark.

I am pretty sure my BX wouldn't come close to a 1000lbs on the front. If you have bucket forks, its going to be a lot less, mabye no more than 500lbs or a little less. If you took the bucket of and used forks it would be more but probably in the range of the tests the above poster shows.

But then I wonder how you place the pallet anywhere but right on the edge of the trailer? You could push it with the FEL but then you start tearing up your trailer bed.
