I've chased out invaders several times and confronted people inside home and work.

Always confronting coming to the property so even if I owned a gun it would have to be secured at my place if business or home as carrying going to work or coming home is not an option legally available to 99.9% of the public...

At work at 1 in the morning it was the guys third strike... the police dog got him after I had him cornered and he sues the police department for being bit and I have to testify... didn't go well for him.

Same with other crimes in progress... the endless court dates wear you down only to show up and wait and then a postponement or continuance... but I kept coming back.

I can only imagine had I been armed or armed and shot someone I would be on trail... a person never even having a parking ticket now would be prosecuted...

My brother's friend had a break in years ago. The friend grabbed a shotgun and there was a guy on the steps. The guy reached back as if to scratch his neck, friend shot him dead.
Police found the intruder had sewn a pocket in back of his shirt and had a pistol in it. Police were so glad perp was dead since he had broken into many homes in the area.
If we hear someone breaking in like that seconds count.

True in CA and a few other states, here and 26 other states anyone can carry a weapon when not in a "Gun Free" zones. My business has a sign that carrying of firearms is welcomed, would be hypocritical not allow it since I open carry on property most of the time.

I have a completely different question, which I have been trying to get answered for years.

What happened to the fur trapper in Zappa's song "Nanook and the Fur Trapper?" Did the story end with him wandering blind, trudging into the Tundra in search of the Parish of St El Fonzo?

Yeah and now thugs have Glocks with a "switch" which basically makes them a full auto firearm. Can you imagine shooting a 17 or 30 round mag at full auto through a handgun? Who knows where half of the rounds will go. If you watch a video of them shooting a 30 round mag through one of those it takes like 2-3 seconds at most. Scary!!
That switch if there to make them full auto, just makes them more likely NOT to hit a target.

And it was at that precise moment that he remembered an ancient Eskimo legend
Wherein it is written
On whatever it is that they write it on up there
That if anything bad ever happens to your eyes
As the result of some sort of conflict with anyone named Nanook
The only way you can get it fixed up
Is to go trudging across the tundra mile after mile
Trudging across the tundra right down to the parish of St. Alfonzo

I just installed a quick access wall safe in the closet for my handgun and will probably get a wall lock like this for my pistol caliber carbine.

Because you are right every second counts. I have a 12 year old son, so I am not leaving the handgun in the nightstand drawer. But you are in trouble if you have to go into the spare room or basement to get in the gun safe.
