The same thing happened to my kids sliding board years ago. A fast growing pine I just never got around to cutting. My lawn mower wouldn't quite reach it.

A couple of years ago at the annual Thresherman's Association show in Pickneyville, IL, there was an old International (if I remember correctly) that was pulled out of the woods with a similar problem... except that the tree had grown completely around the left frame rail, just behind the radiator. The tractor's first appearance was just shortly after the tractor was cut free...then the next year they had it fully restored, with a twist... The gentleman who restored the tractor cut the section of tree out to free the tractor, but when they restored it, they left the section of tree on the tractor. They varnished and polished the wood, and it really did look kind of neat, and gave an idea of what they had to do to get that old tractor running again.

I wish I would have taken a picture of it... maybe someone else on here has seen it and has a picture.

I'm sure this one will resurface with the upcoming election. But, in SC there is a town named Clinton and a town named Prosperity. There is a street sign that shows Clinton in one direction and Prosperity in the exact opposite direction. Really didn't come true with old Bill, but I suspect it might be a little more likely to be prophetic with Mrs. Bill.

I once owned a rental that had a second unit in back, down a long driveway. The front tenants were worried about the back tenant speeding down the driveway so they had put up a sign:
Slow - Children.
When I eventually rented the back house to a teacher she took one look at the front guy's children and and commented: "No kidding!"

2. What moron or sadistic so and so in government was responsible?

There are normally committees of morons making these decisions.

Boyd is a small town and I think it started as just Hitt Street. Then they renamed the north and south portions...then the abbreviation...then they made street signs with the "S" so close to the "Hitt" that you can't help but see the double entendre. If I was on the city council, I'd say they should use the abbreviation "So." or spell out "south." But alas! They are the butt of many jokes.

When I was learning to drive a truck(27 years ago) there was a sign on the route in front of a mini wharehouse that was set back off the road. The business in front was a septic tank business and they had all those new septic tanks lined up right under the sign. Made you think about what kind of mini storage they were running. Picture was taken but no telling where it went by now, pre-digital, from a 110 instamatic.

Out on a country road a mile or 2 from me somebody parked an old mustang in their front yard up by the road.
The drivers door was left open about 6 inches and the window left down 2 or 3 inches.
Over the years a tree grew up between the inside of the door and the rocker panel and then on up and out through the open window.
The only way to ever move the car is to saw the tree off at the ground and saw the trunk off on both sides of the window glass and door.
The car sat there for years with a 4 to six inch diameter tree growing through it.
I will have to drive over there some time and see if it's still sitting there.

I have relatives in Aiken SC- there is an intesection that they've had trouble keeping a road sign on- Whiskey Ave and Easy Street! That's where I want to live!!!
