Need some advice on re-plumbing my 3rd function valve. My current set up is the typical electric solenoid and a DO-5? plate which is fed from my power beyond.

My tractor also has a BH circuit, it seems that the hydraulic hose is 1/2" in and out of the DO-5 plate.

I would like to replace this short section of 1/2" hose with 1/4" hose. If I do this will it create a problem wit lack of flow to the BH?

The 1/4 hose will have more pressure loss per foot than 1/2 inch will.

Depending on the pump flow this loss could cause your system to run hot.

Restricting volume (pressure would be the same) will generate heat and slow functions. If you said it was just a 3rd function for a snow blade or grapple I’d be less worried than a BH. The BH likes multiple functions at once and tends to get ran for long periods.

The make ultra flexible hose. I’d consider rerouting the 1/2” line with new hose- if the issue is that it’s in the way.

Thanks for the response guys. I wish I knew how to post pictures, it would likely help explain the issues I'm having.

I did go back and looked at the video of Cal Attachments installation. At this point, I am thinking of mounting the valve in a different location. In it's current location I can't access the QC's to disconnect the hoses going to the front of the loader. Any ideas?

To post your pics, click the "Go Advanced" button, where "manage attachments" for valid file extensions shows up. Click that and you will see how to "Add Files" , browse to locate the ones you want, then "upload" them.

Should be all it takes... good luck

Thanks, I might try this when I get it finished. I have already removed the valve and re-mounted it on the loader arm.

I am currently waiting on a couple of fittings to finish the plumbing and then I want to add a cover to protect the valve.
