I picked up a new builder and placed several culverts for him.

I started this shop pad with my tractor. I stripped the organic, keyed in and headed down the road to get fuel. When I finished fueling the box blade wouldn't raise. Found out later that it was a loose power beyond plug. I was sweating bullets while I picked up the Case to finish the job since I had three triaxle loads of select fill blocking the street.

Here's a washout repair done with a new Kubota KX040-4. Three hours on the clock. I cleaned up the slope and dug a couple anchor footings on the sides, then placed a couple ten-wheeler loads of rip rap over two layers of geotextile fabric.

This one took longer to cleanup the tracks and mud in the street than it took to do the job. The builder had the bright idea to take out the entire sidewalk in front of this lot...which then filled up with rainwater. They tried to fill the driveway spot with a pickup load of sand, then promptly buried the pickup in the sand/mud combo. I dug it out, laid a double layer of geo and spread a thick layer of road base in the entrance. I also graded out the lot for better drainage. Hey...that's what silt fence is for, right? I hardly ever work in town...must of freaked me out since I failed to take a pic when I finished.

First thing I thought was why are you working in a residential neighborhood? LOL Is there any inspectors or a permit for what you did there?

Eddie - The name of the company was Two Crazy Guys, or something to that effect. They must be...I told them I have an 8hr minimum on the machine plus materials, and they agreed to it! I called my inspector who told me to get in, get out and fogetaboutit.

Murph - Thank you..and what's up with the new avatar?

Thank you! The Case has been working fine. Maybe I've worked through the majority of problems and it'll have a long and healthy service life...knocks on wood.

Good to see ya back . What does your little hired man think of his new partner ? As usual your driveway work is to be admired , not 1 rock out of place . You must have better drivers than what I deal with! Again congrats . BTW what is the new guy called ?

Dave - Thank you...and by the way, you dress up pretty good. :D

Kevin - Dalton (my 3yr old) likes to help with his little bro, although he is starting to realize that giving up his old stuff (that he forgot about) isn't THAT much fun. I named the new guy Rally. It took mom a while to warm up to the idea, but she finally succumbed to my charm.

I don't have drivers tailgate any loads, but there are still only a few that my supplier dare send my way. They've either been ridiculed and lived to tell about it or they were pretty good to begin with. Those that are willing to do it my way get invited back. Since they're usually hauling to the company's concrete plant, any job that gets them out of the roun-d-round is coveted. That, and the contractor's jobs like mine pay more. More likely the latter . Oops moments do still happen from time to time...myself included. Bottom dumps are easy to keep "between the lines" and we have end dumps down pretty good too, but a ten foot wide road is still pretty narrow to keep things off of the sides when dumping with a jacknifed pup trailer, so I do a good bit of pile management while spreading to minimize cleanup.

Thanks to all. From the kids to business and just life in general, my wife and I feel blessed in all we do.

Kyle - The work board is full and the phone is ringing off the hook. Things should start drying up today and I'll be back at it tomorrow...finally!

Great news! Paychecks on the way. Mama needs new shoes and baby need more diapers. It will feel like you gave yourself a raise when you get through buying diapers. Only then, they start wanting fancy clothes or video games....$$
