Thanks GP.

I'd post a few more pics, but the uploader STILL isn't working.

Thanks GP.

I'd post a few more pics, but the uploader STILL isn't working.

It is a pain doing them one picture at a time. I did a couple from Photobucket and Face Book, but the big pictures are tough on folks looking on their phones, so I'm just posting less pictures until they get it straightened out. I know that it's taking a little longer for you, as many pictures as you post.

Here's the last of the drainage grading photos...and the last photos I'll post until the regular uploader is fixed.

Nice! That space between the house and the fence is tricky. It looks like quite a bit of grade difference to deal with over a narrow area. I think you backed it off as much as possible while keeping the area mowable and not prone to erosion.

That Case is a nice tool, thanks for showing what can be done with it.

Tons of new pics in my phone, but...it's refusing to send them to an email address. Hopefully I can get into the cell place this week and get it fixed.

John- Just saw the photos you posted on HEF. That is quite the cutter, how wide is it? The rock work looks great as usual. Its sounds like you have a project recovering and fixing your Case.

The cutter is 72" wide and a rental from my Kubota guys. It's a Bradco and only has two blades, but the rotation is reversible. It cut okay, but not great. It was very handy having the side discharge for cutting the tall reeds though. Actually, with that much material to cut it was better to go through it at a fast clip, cutting 1/3 of the deck width with the cutter three feet off the ground to keep blade speed up. Then reverse cut at two feet, another forward cut at one foot and reverse again close to the ground. The ground below was pumping water or muddy and the mosquitoes were thick on the side windows. Tough stuff!

The multiple photo uploader still isn't working, but I'm bored so I figured I'd upload a few.

I don't usually work in town, but when I do...I make sure it's tight!

Here's a few from a driveway job a few weeks ago. Created a drainage swale and filled in a few low spots in the lawn while I was at it. Before I started I had to deal with a dead battery. I guess the jump from 85 degrees down to 32 overnight was just too much for it.

I've had my fair share of work related problems lately, that's for sure. On my way to a job hauling my CASE a couple days after the dead battery, I had a blowout on a new trailer tire. The next day I had to have my Dodge flatbed towed into the shop with a bad lift pump. Now the CASE is sitting a mile from firm ground in a wet field with no hydraulics.

Talk about hitting a window of opportunity! It rained this morning, so I figured I'd wait until this afternoon, hoping to get the CASE out before the big storm hit. I checked...the ground was just dry enough to access the machine with the only 20k winch-equipped flatbed tow truck in the area (who happened to be heading back to the shop.) We got it loaded with raindrops just starting...hauled butt outta there back to the pavement and got it to my house right as it starting dumping rain bigtime. Yanked it off of the truck with my tractor in a full downpour.

Sorry you are having equipment "challenges." Hopefully it will all get squared away for the rest of the summer.

Thanks Dave. It is what it is, I just deal with it and move on to the next job. Nice to vent once in awhile if you know what I mean.

Glad you got the Case drug out of there.

Thanks. No good news though. One of the main hydraulic hoses that runs to the left side drivemotor blew. Since CNH uses the same frame for skidsteers and CTL's (like a lot if others), the hose is in a cavity that the chain would reside in (chaincase). No way to get to it without removing the track, sprocket, drive motor and attachment plate. Since I've been having problems with that same drive motor leaking, it doesn't make sense not to change it as long as it's off of there anyway. Discounted cost for turnkey from my dealer (including a rebuilt drivemotor and new rear idler) $5800. I can save $1400 doing it myself, but I'm thinking it's not worth the headache. I still got a good deal on this machine...but good grief!

Anybody wanna buy a kidney?

My CASE dealer made me a killer rental deal on a cab TV380 to run while my machine is being repaired. I'm glad my machine's not a vertical lift...I need a nap after hitting all of the grease fittings!

I have lots of photos to share, but the multiple uploader still isn't working and I'm not the most patient guy.

This driveway had been topped with recycle asphalt...kinda. There's always some shyster selling millings when the county is re-topping roads. The problem is that the county grinds the roads at different depths and the customer doesn't know if they're getting good asphalt or asphalt with roadbase or even asphalt with roadbase and dirt. This driveway was topped with RAP with a high content of dirt provided by our local big-name, second generation shyster and spread over the top of all of the grass in the old driveway...just like his daddy did. As you can see, I removed a bunch of grass out of the mix before regrading and topping.

Ni-i-i-ce driveway.

And seriously cute kid. And if you really loved him you'd buy him that machine. ;)
