I have the opportunity to pickup a 6' RB for my 2305 at a good price. I like the heft of the blade and the fact that it has a pin for angle and another for tilt (especially being able to leave out the tilt pin and "float" it). I also like the idea of the upward compatibility in terms of still being usable on a slightly larger tractor if I upsize. By question is whether or not 6' is basically unusable on the 2305? If it serves as a better anchor then gravel drive and snow scraper then the value proposition suffers... Does anyone have experience with using a 6' blade like this on the 2305?

I have one on mine and it works great, but I also have a snow blower on the front. It gets right down to the pavement even when cars have driven on the snow first.

I have to blow the snow first because the tractor isn't heavy enough to pull the blade through a 6 inch snow when cleaning my wide driveway. It will do just fine the first trip down and back but after that it is too much snow for the little tractor. And I have wheel weights, chains, a Curtis hard cab and a little extra on me for weight.

Thats a huge blade a small tractor.
Light work would be fine, but anything serious will be too much for it.

That is probably about a 600 lbs box blade, that is right at the limit of what that little tractor can lift before it is full of gravel or dirt.

The poster is referring to a 6' rear blade that is a light duty model.

I think you would be better served with a 5' blade for a 2305.

I agree 5' would prob be better, if it will cover your tracks at full angle.
The 6' is plenty for my 2720 when it makes a decent bite.
However if the deal is great then get it. If it disappoints then you should still be able to get your money back...or adapt to it. If the cutting edge bolts aren't on the far outside edges, it can always be narrowed with a smokewrench.

I would absolutely get it and give it a try. I have a 2210 (earlier 2305) and run about a 5 1/2 foot blade on mine (along with the front end loader) for two approximately 400' driveways. I picked up an OLD (International brand?) 7 foot blade for cheap a few years ago and torched the sides off to make it about 5 foot, 6 inches (it made sense with the location of the bolts, etc.). The 2210 has really no trouble with this length blade, and I'm assuming you may get around what Ohio gets in terms of snowfall. Just take it easy, and for the real thick stuff take some smaller bites (very seldom for me).

I wouldn't think twice about picking that up, especially if it's a good price.

Have no experience with the blade on a 2305 but have the same one on my 4210, paid $450 delivered for mine, maybe the price I paid new will help you decide to buy that one or not. Weight is 283 pounds...it's heavily made but the paint finish is pretty thin...if you buy it, try it out before you cut it down. Mine gets 95% of it's use doing snow removal and it does a super job of that. Hope this helps.
