RB-1560 Blade

Would an RB-1560 blade be too much weight out back for a BX-1500 tractor? Have one from my old BX-2200 and have just got a BX-1500 from my dad as he has just passed away. Thanks.

Sorry for your loss... I think a BX would handle the 5ft blade. If not, you could always cut it down.

I have noticed an RB-05 is #143 and an RB-15 series is #248. My BX2200 pulled it fine and also wondering if the class1 hitch is the same on both models? Thanks....JB.

5 footer no problem. I use a 6 ft Rankin with out issue on my BX.

No the hitches are different. One is a 0/limited 1 and the other just a 1.

Going to use the RB1560 on the BX1500 and see how it handles it. If it is too much, I will see if I can swap someone for a 48" blade. Thanks for the responses............JB.

If it was too heavy, I'm wondering if you could put some holes in it to lessen the weight. It still should do the job, I think.

The manual said #400 lbs. on the rear lift points and 54" blade width for the 1500. May shave 3" off each end and make it lighter rather than swiss cheese it....Thanks for the idea......JB.

Sounds good to me... I was planning to do the same when I picked up a used 72in blade but I tried it first and it is working for my needs. There has been a few times the 'tail starts wagging the dog'. Someday I may trim it to 60in but I like the fact that it clears my rear tires even with it offset. I don't have to get too close to the ditch.
