If you want a simple, cheap non-toxic rat poison. Mix 1 part sugar, 1 part flour and 1 part baking soda. Put it out in flat pans or containers (where other critters cant get to it) and refill as they empty it.
It is VERY effective.

Aaron, can you go into the details of how this works. I suspect there is some kind of gas production in the gut of the rat that kills it? Do you have any info on this?
Rats cant pass gas, so when the baking soda reacts with the stomach contents to make gas, they cannot pass it and it kills them.Aaron, can you go into the details of how this works. I suspect there is some kind of gas production in the gut of the rat that kills it? Do you have any info on this?
In answer to my own question, I did some research, and it appears that the baking soda, reacting to acid in the rats gut produces C02 gas that the rat apparently cant pass (imagine that! rats can't fart:laughingand it ruptures the rats gut eventually.
My dog can pass gas, is it safe for her? She is half Hoover, half Bissell so everything gets sucked up.
OK, further research suggests that rats can fart, .
Was that laboratory research or google research?![]()

If you don't believe this recipe please google the fact of Vitamin D as a rat killer.
