Neighbor lady down the beach decided to stop by last summer, she had never been to our house before. Before that we always talked on the beach or shared driveway. Her house has the front door on the side of the house (side being on the wall at 90 degrees from the beach). She walked down the beach and up my boat launch and assumed our front door was similar. Our front door is on the wall opposite and parallel to the beach. She just assumed our house was the same as theirs but it was our side (back) door. Yours does not sound as easily confused, but you never know.

Well got curious and looked at my security cam video and confirmed it was indeed an Amazon delivery guy and not one of the usuals. And no he didn't relieve himself other than the package. Speaking of which, the package was my new RV sewer hose. He's also walking right past my septic clean outs.

I've been waiting on a small part carb slide for motorcycle) that I ordered on the 19th Dec., USPS tracking shows its been in NJ since the 25th, another item that was bought on the 24th is still showing picked up but "pre-shipment info sent, usps awaits item".
On the other hand I have two items shipping via FedEx, a tire coming from Cali that was bought on the 30th and should be here the 7th, then the other item was bought on the first and will be here the 8th. It is coming from Poland!
How the he-- is it that can I get an item from Poland in 8days but its taking almost 3 weeks for something a couple states away and there isn't even an eta for delivery!
I just ordered some hardware the other day and paid an extra $4 for shipping through FedEx because I can't trust the USPS to actually get things to me right now, Sad.
On the other hand I have two items shipping via FedEx, a tire coming from Cali that was bought on the 30th and should be here the 7th, then the other item was bought on the first and will be here the 8th. It is coming from Poland!

Grainger had it in stock where other HVAC supply houses back-ordered...
Yesterday afternoon counted 7 delivery vans on my little dead end road... 3 were Amazon.
Several work from homes do everything online...
Speaking of that... Safeway stores is pulling the plug on home delivery citing California's new law making drivers benefited employees.

Uber, Door Dash, etc. successfully carved out an exception when prop 22 passed.
Safeway uses refrigerated trucks around here not sure how many refrigerated trucks Dash uses.
Also Safeway policy was to refuse tips.
Have never used any of them but very popular with neighbors.

It feels like USPS is getting caught up around here. An envelope I mentioned earlier, mailed to a P.O. box 3 miles away, finally arrived after 4 weeks. We received lots of junk mail with ads that were already expired. Now we are receiving mail within 3 days again in most cases.

I don't think I've ever gotten a Sunday USPS delivery, but a few years ago one of my neighbors did. I thought it unusual.
Once in a great while I've missed a credit card statement. Didn't realize it was missing until next month when I got hit with extra charges. As far as rebates go, I think a lot of them are scams, and the rebate fulfillment centers count on you forgetting that you put in for one, or they'll "disqualify" you for it because you left some space blank on the form, or used the wrong UPC code, or some other little nitpicky thing. Of course they never tell you why or even that it was disqualified. I haven't bothered with them in decades.

We had USPS doing Sunday deliveries here early last year, but then it seemed to just stop.
Still get some Amazon deliveries on Sunday.
We did miss some mail when our mailman was on vacation. We got mail from other houses and put it back in mailbox for them to redistribute. None of it was important or I would have taken it over myself.

The bulk of the Zon order showed up today. Most of it's OK, but one item I'm not real happy with. I'll probably keep it though since I don't generally return items that aren't defective. I'll take things back to local stores if I bought wrong or too many, but shipping back is a different issue.

This Zon order has turned into a total cluster. Nine items, all paid for at one time, one order number. Five of them shipped in one box. They didn't ship for a week after I paid, then arrived in two days once shipped. These were the larger items. The other four items, all smaller than a Bic lighter and about a dollar each shipped individually, four shipments from four different places via UPS. They likely paid close to $20 even with their super discounted rates to ship four items totaling less than $5.

I get really frustrated about that when I have it shipped to a drop off point in winter, so that the delivery company doesn't have to drive down my road. It costs me $3.00 per package to do that, so when they spit a seemingly simple order up into several parcels it costs me money. There's no way of knowing when you place the order that it's scattered all over Timbuktu.
Cabela's finally got around to shipping my boots... a week after taking my money they finally printed a label. 4 days later it actually went out for shipment. The funniest thing is that before even creating a label they had already asked for a review... I don't believe that you will see them posting what I said though.
