But it too could get scuffed up, dirty, scratched and who knows what being shipped naked.
Should be bubble wrapped in a cardboard box inside a wooden crate at least.
But then once installed they would get scuffed up, dirty, scratched anyway.
Hey, that's that happens to tires.
So you'd prefer to pay another few $$'s to get a clean one?
Or do you simply think the seller should absorb those extra costs.

Re boxing rims, that I concur.
LOL, you want to make your own nicks.

Ordered a printer from Walmart.com on Dec 30. Said it would be delivered on Jan 4.
Got a text on the 2nd that it had been delivered. That was quick for us considering the holiday. Got home from church and found the printer setting on the back patio in the rain not on the covered porch. FedEx has a bunch of ****** contractors working for them.
Luckily it was ok. But had we been gone for the day it would have been a mess.

Wow. Kaiser HMO here. Their emphasis is preventive medical care to reduce the need for treatment, and they're pretty good at it.

None of those pharmacy hassles. Walk downstairs from clinic to pharmacy and they are already preparing your order, your name appears on a message board in a few minutes. Pay $5~$10 deductible sometimes, and walk out. It's rare to be asked to pay retail for a prescription and their generic Iboprufin, allergy medicine, etc that is non prescription is inexpensive. Mailorder similar. Everything (in our experience) gets mailed out by their regional pharmacy by next day. What you pay to subscribe, covers all the BS so you never see an invoice.

Health care treatment likewise, usually a $10 fee as you check in for anything then never an invoice or discussion of cost.

Going into Kaiser can feel like the DMV but that's just the screening counter, the medical professionals are excellent.

I hope it isn't too political to say Kaiser has been looked at as a model for lower cost health care.
I have a friend who is crippled by long Covid. He had to dump Kaiser to get treatment, because Kaiser refuses to admit that long Covid even exists.

Is there a secure place they could have put it? All 3 carriers will put a package on the (enclosed) porch if no one's home here.

Oh great. I hadn't heard that before.

We got our shots as soon as they were available. Thousands of people were immunized per day. Kaiser rented a huge exhibit hall plus more space for the immunization campaign.

That might have taken 2=3 more steps and time is money!

From where they stop their truck it is exactly the same distance to the front covered porch as it is to the back patio.
House cant be seen from the road so theft is not an issue.
FedEx has some really dumb drivers. My drive is a circle and is easily navigated by even large trucks. Half the time they will turn around to leave instead of driving around.
Mostly younger drivers.

I had a Fedex signature required delivery scheduled by a vendor for Monday (without coordinating). Since I was not going to be home on Monday, I went on line to fedex and scheduled a one day hold. Tuesday fedex sent me a text that it was out for delivery. Same thing today (Wednesday) and no delivery. No panic yet by any means, but it shows that once something gets bumped somehow, it really messes things up.

Oh man that brought back memories. I posted here (photos even!) in 2008 about a delivery that got stuck and I had a heck of a time pulling him out.

Bozo delivered a 300 lb water tank using a 14k equipment trailer. The trailer was so long he couldn't turn it around without sinking his truck in the mud, so I lifted it and backed it down into the orchard. Then I discovered that trailer was so heavy I couldn't pull it uphill.
The backhoe bucket curl was the only thing with enough force to drag that trailer uphill. A foot at a time. In the rain.

I suspect there were air brakes partly locked. It had an air line but the new-hire driver had no answer to my questions.

Later I found tracks where he had bounced that trailer across a ditch, from not turning wide enough where the easement joined the county road. I don't think that driver had ever towed a trailer before in his life.

YMMV. In some areas the same people deliver repeatedly and know the route well. One of the many problems with modern society is people think their experience is how everyone has it. Another huge reason why national policies are rarely a good option.

Here in the city, I can tell when our 'regular' letter carriers or garbage collectors are off work.
