I’ve always shopped insurance like I shop groceries
It’s a shell game the way they raise premiums and over the years I’ve saved thousands shopping around but I don’t drop them unless they mess with me.Currently I’m with Auto Owners and all is well,hopefully I with them to stay

Insurance companies all have two departments. One sells insurance, the other resists and denies claims.

Mention you will report them for not acting "in good faith" to the insurance regulatory agency in your state.
It will have a positive effect for you.

I’d say advertising is false and misleading…

Like a good neighbor State Farm is there… You’re in Good Hands with All State… etc…

Absolutely, All State is the worse in my 85+ years!!!! Lied, deceived, slipped change by me & cost me $40K+ plus the hours of distress fighting them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had problems with State Farm just 1 time abd that was whem I called the National office, NOT my local agent. When I contacted my local agent, that problem disappeared. Also, was another vehicle involved? If so and they also have Stated Farm, then things could go south. Did they take your license plate too?

First home was cancelled two weeks after purchase… underwriting didn’t like my East Oakland neighborhood otherwise known as red lining.

Call to Insurance Commissioner took care of that… over 40 years and now a single claim… makes you wonder just how smart they are.

A while ago I bought a 12 year old 2006 F350 with a plow for $8,000. Yours is 17 years old. You believe they’ve done you wrong by not evaluating your own truck for repair. None of them do this though. They look at the median price of a similar truck in your region, look at actuarial tables to see the regional costs of repairs, and decide to either total or repair it based on what’s less expensive for them. These older trucks are relatively cheap to buy and expensive to repair. This isn’t specific to State Farm.

It's not the fact they totalled it out. Older truck, parts could be find, etc.

The fact it took 3 weeks to get someone to physically look at it ( body shop said an adjuster for them lives 5 miles down the road) and they told my wife that we made them mad and they will screw with us ( in no uncertain terms) and after weeks, they said we will wait.

Service like that is what pissed me off.

There are bad agents as well as good ones. Just like bad service shops and bad doctors. I have been lucky to have a good SF agent.

The good agents or agents in general are being pushed out with forced sales to the company in efforts to consolidate…

I have a dozen policies with one agent I have never met… my friend and agent for over 30 years was told his book of business was being bought… same for the agent he sent my business for less than 2 years… now it’s run from an office 2 hours away and decisions made by algorithm…
