Tractor
none
Well, I love the tractor so far. I have 22 hours on it. I decided I'd build dollies for my snowblower and loader to make changing out easier. I quickly discovered while taking the loader off and putting the snowblower on that the tractor and attachments want to be at the same height( i dont think anyone has said that before...haha) That's easy, I'll just build some ramps for the tractor to meet the height of the dolly right? The tractor won't drive up on to the ramps! I just couldn't of imagined that. I'm so wet behind the ears with tractors I figured I'd throw it on to see what you guys think. Do I need to decrease my ramp angle? Thanks. Newbie Aaron

It was in 4wd, it always is. I also had my rears locked up. Brakes wern't on. 2600 rpm. Even tried to get a running start(a mighty 8" of running start). Wouldn't climb it...

That is steep angle, try sliding rear ramp forward bit until front on ramp.

try putting a 2X10 in front of the ramps so you can take the hight in two steps. One long ramp would be better too, as you are then only lifting one end of the tractor at a time.

So it's not my tractor's fault? No tractor will climb 40 degrees on all wheels at once? Would a manual climb it?

I will try that, I don't have the room in my garage bay for it to be one ramp. I need to take the attachments off/on in the garage. Casters won't work outside the garage. I'll give it a shot with the 2X10 and let you know. Thanks. Aaron

I agree with CNC that two step ramps would be best. Save your blocking for use as wheel chocks, they are handy to have around too. (I don't believe and manual transmisson would have made any difference.)

in that case make one of the 2X10s longer than the other, and bevel the front edge some.

Got some old tires? Cut some rubber and staple it to your ramps, leave it long, so the rubber lays on the floor, letting the tractor drive on that first.... It will climb right up.
