Railroad Iron Drag

   / Railroad Iron Drag #21
I came by several 16 foot sticks of old 8 inch cast iron water pipe which had been destined for the scrap pile. Very heavy. I chain one behind the 14 foot harrow to smooth and repack dirt before planting. I use the depth control on the harrow to regulate how much dirt it tries to drag up. Works good in the field busting up black clay clods. Don't know about a road. It's not pretty but it works.

I built this one about 8 years ago. Made it 9' wide so I could do a one pass and be done. It works perfect on my drive.

I made this one to drag behind my Honda 4-wheeler to maintain my 40' round pen because it is too small for my tractor to manuver in.

I had to cut it and reweld it a couple of times before I got the angle just right for the most effective drag.
