John Deere 2955 / Kubota SVL 90-2
My jD 2955 compacts the soil with the tires exactly where the planter places seed. The middle has a hump. I attached the rail section to my three point hitch I hope of leveling the soil prior to planting. What do you guys think? Will this work?
How do I add pics?

Cultipackers are an implement dedicated to pressing seed into the ground, promoting germination. Tractor tires insure good seed contact with the ground in the same way.

Do not bother dragging with rail unless you want the minor leveling effect the rail will provide.

A Disc Harrow is the most common tractor implement used for leveling large areas with ruts, dips and holes of up to 6" depth or so.

The middle has a hump.

Use to be common to see such a setup on the rear of a disk but as disk have gotten better designs to leave level field and field cultivators seldom see such any more. That and disk have go fold up and such. But such on the rear of a disk work well.

Corn is normally seeded on 30" rows. It looks like that's what your planter is set at. When you seed corn on 30" rows the tires are set at 60" center to center. With 18.4" tires that should leave you with just enough room to plant two rows between the tires. If you are going to cultivate your corn with that tractor you need to move the tires out anyways. Are you seeding a field or a garden plot?

And yes the railway track will work. Just be careful that you don't hook it on your tires while turning or backing up.

The tractor tires compact the soil after it is harrowed with a Athens disc harrow. The "hump" is the soil between the tires and is directly in the middle when a row of corn or sunflower will be planted... I use the planter for dove fields and plant corn and sunflower...
I only want to level out the soil before the planter because the tire tracks compact the soil due to the weight of the tractor.. I used to use a much smaller tractor to plant with ( three rows) but now use a 2955 that is much heavier.. Appreciate the replies, everyone..
