If you've never heard one of those Merlins overhead, you have missed an experience...it's an unmistakable sound; it always sends a shiver up my back. I was at a car show in Guthrie Oklahoma a few years back, and I heard the growl of a Merlin over head. I did a little jog out of the trees into the open, and sure enough, there was a gorgeous P-51 Mustang coming in low for a landing at the nearby city airport. They say "power, authority, adventure, grace and memories of yesteryear"
