radius rod ball end, Case DI

Howdy , I'm looking for a radius rod pivot ball end that attaches to the U shaped radius rod. The ball pivot fits into the cap and seat casting on a solid axle ( or spring mounted axle) on my 1950 Case DI . The pivot ball is riveted to the rod, so an assy would be fine. My parts book calls out 02515AB as the part number. thanks, dave

Another tractor forum responced with his experience with this problem. Locate a round bearing that is large enough. Aneal it and weld an threaded section that will attach to the U shaped radius rod pivot ball mount. That is a do-able approach.

If you do weld some threads to a bearing.. counter drill it a bit and slip the shank into the bearing, and then weld it up.. it will hold better than just glyueing the shank to the surface.

Heck.. even better will be to drill and tap the bearing for threads.. thread the shank in, AND then weld it!

Found a good replacement pivot ball for the radius rod retainer. I used a clutch pivot ball off a '67 big block Corvette. Works like a charm and cost < $15 shipped.

Nothing quite as satisfying like finding a cheap will-fit part.
