I don't like leaving attachments on the ground outside but have limited amount of space under the pole barn and don't want to move stuff to get to the one I want. My FEL has quick attach, has anybody built racks for storing grapple or buckets?

I did. Works great. Mine is 3 levels, although I built the top shelf too high and I can’t drop implements on that shelf. Which is a bummer because I have 3 FEL implements (snow plow, grapple, bucket). I can’t find the YouTube video that inspired my design, but it’s basically the same. 2x4s worked fine, but I ended up sistering a 2nd 2x4 to the frame and adding some cross braces. Added bonus is that my MMM deck slides under the bottom. Pallet racking will work too if you have more money than time. In the process of moving everything to our new barn, so a little cluttered at the moment...

I've got a 84" bucket and 66" grapple, so I was figuring bucket on the bottom sitting on some 6x6's and the grapple on top.

I use industrial pallet racks (like the ones you see at Costco or homedepot) to store implements and attachments. Used racks are adjustable, cheap and plentiful and can hold a lot of weight.

Husky makes a great one at home depot for like $200 that can hold 2k per shelf, with 4 shelves. I have them for other storage and love them.

2k is a far cry for what they can and will hold. I have probably 900# of pellets for my smoker on (2) of the (4) shelves in the garage. There is noticeable sag on them.

The ones that Menards sells are way stronger IMO. If I would guesstimate, probably 1300#+ on each shelf with ammo, reloading supplies in the basement, no sag on them at all.

The Menards cross members are thicker and lock in better. However when I bought mine (8) racks they only came in (3) shelf units. (4) shelves are nice on the Home Depot brand but I'll give up a shelf to hold the weight it states it can.

I compromise. Leave the buckets outside (any solid steel implement) but keep anything with hydraulics inside. I have 2 BH buckets and the FEL bucket so it frees up a bit of room. They are already completely scratched up so a bit of rust wont hurt anything. For the rest I built wood dollies (kinda like the ones for furniture). They work well for grapple, not so well for rear blade (hard to place on dolly). They roll around on my concrete floor no problem. I can even push the grapple by hand and it weighs 900+ lbs.

this is in a shed, but I built a small rack using 2x6s, and 3/4" ply. The pallet forks store under the snow blower's pallet
I second building dollies for everything. After reading what @Jchonline wrote, i will prob start leaving the ssqa bucket outside and just keep the loader inside, will save a bunch of room.

I think this post is about pallet racks used in big box stores to DISPLAY their products, not the lighter racking they SELL.

Some dealers must buy them when a warehouse shuts down and then sell the mountain of them off in small lots. Also, I've seen them junked and available for $.20/lb, back before the used steel prices soared.

I too, use Industrial Racking. 13 Foot long is great for storing two buckets or grapples side by side. 13 foot beams are very deep and heavy to install though. Then wire mesh on top to make it safer and easier to put stuff on. No shortage of surplus Redi-rack out there. You can even get galvanized for use in coolers/freezers.
